SEATTLE - July 11, 2008 - Giant Campus, the nationally recognized leader in technology education programs, today announced the launch of three new courses to its virtual high school customers. The courses: Web Design, Computer Literacy I, and 3D Game Creation add to the company's existing portfolio covering computer fundamentals, programming, and multimedia.

The 90-hour, one semester courses include hands-on projects, conceptual learning activities, assessments and additional resources like glossaries, study guides, and procedure libraries. "These courses are a great update to our VSS catalog," said James Peters, director of content development for Giant Campus. "We'll be adding and updating more in the coming months, as well as beginning the development of our next generation of courses which offer an even richer learning experience for students."

Specifically, the Web Design course is modeled after Giant Campus' popular Cybercamps course and uses the open source editor KompoZer. The course includes six cumulative projects that take students from creating simple one-page Web sites to building pages from scratch with HTML, CSS and basic JavaScript.

Computer Literacy I is a new course that replaces Computer Fundamentals I. It teaches introductory Office 2003 skills, Internet, email, keyboarding and digital literacy skills via seven holistic projects. The course is also specifically designed around ISTE's NETS framework 3D Game Creation is the VSS version of the course introduced this summer at Cybercamps Academy. Students learn how to build four types of games using the GameCore engine.

"These three new courses continue to drive Giant Campus to the forefront as a provider of project-based youth technology training," said Pete Findley, CEO of Giant Campus. "This is an excellent milestone for our customers and ourselves."
